Green Manufacturing

At Sunshine Global Circuits, we are committed to green and sustainable manufacturing.

Environmental impact has long been a challenging issue for the printed circuit board industry. Sunshine is a historically strong proponent of sustainable manufacturing - here is how we are doing our part.

Commitment to the Environment

Our Shenzhen factory was certified to ISO-14001 in 2007 for its environmental management system, and we received an award for "Green Enterprise" in 2008. Over the years, we have done many things to decrease our environmental impact with programs such as copper recycling from etching solutions and early adoption of energy-saving technologies.

Green Manufacturing Technology Center

In 2019, Sunshine established a Green Manufacturing Technology Center (GMTC) to accelerate the development and implementation of new eco-friendly processes and materials. GMTC projects include 3D printing, additive processes, high-precision screening, novel pastes for conductive and dielectric applications, and others.

Green Factory

In addition, our factories are implementing ways to conserve energy and reduce environmental impact. Our Jiujiang factory established a Green Factory program in Q1 2020, which encompassed a variety of activities and investments.

A geothermal energy system is being installed during Q2-Q3 of 2020. The ground source heat pump system is expected to reduce the cost of energy by 1 million RMB per year.

Certifications

In March-April 2020, Sunshine Jiujiang factory was evaluated by CEPREI for water and energy conservation. Through on-site audits, our facility passed the requirements to be a "Water-Saving Enterprise," and reduced our requirements for power and gas.

Occupational Safety

Sunshine is also concerned about the safety and well-being of our employees. In March of 2020, our Jiujiang facility achieved ISO-45001 certification for Occupational Safety and Health Management System. This is not commonly done in the PCB industry and it demonstrates our commitment to our employees and to responsible manufacturing.

Carbon Footprint

Both our Shenzhen and Jiujiang factories have achieved ISO-14067 certification for their carbon footprints. This means each facility has achieved an industry-leading reduction in carbon footprint, which covers energy usage and pollution prevention. Both facilities also have extensive programs for copper recycling and material recycling.
