Sunshine Global Circuits recently participated at the Electronica Exhibition in Munich, Germany. This is the largest and most influential electronic trade shows in the world and takes place every 2 years in mid-November. There were 3,500 exhibitors and more than 80,000 visitors from 100 countries. To give you an idea of the scale - the exhibition area had 18 halls with 192K sq. meters of space. Walking from one end to the other easily took 1 hour -- without stopping!
This year’s theme was “The All-Electric Society”, and focused on 4 areas: Artificial intelligence, trends in automotive technology, sustainability, and developing skilled workers for the electronics industry. We saw many companies touting their advances in semiconductor packages, high speed data networking equipment, mobile communications, connected devices (IoT), novel medical technologies, new energy vehicles, fast-charging technology, new battery technology, and more.
Sunshine Booth at the Electronica in Munich Exhibition, November 2024
Sunshine had a large and beautiful-designed booth with 108 sq. meters (1162 sq. feet). We had a total of 16 booth personnel, including 7 from China and 8 from our German sales team. Our European marketing manager Mareike Haas and Managing Director of Sunshine GmbH Olaf Walter worked together to plan and prepare every aspect of the booth. They did an outstanding job as everything was prepared with professionalism and precision.
This year we had a barista for the first time, who made cappuccinos and lattes to order, some even had the SGC logo printed on top (using a printer with food coloring). The booth had numerous meeting spaces and a private room with TV. We served different Asian cuisine daily, as well as hot and cold drinks to visitor. The kitchen was equipped with a sink and dishwasher which really came in handy since we had tons of dishes to wash.
Our booth showcased a variety of high-tech PCB samples, including:
- 64 layer ATE load board,
- 24 layer hi-speed digital ethernet switch linecard (12 different back drill depths),
- 26 layer stator PCB with 4 oz on all layers,
- 26 layer AI GPU board with 7+ HDI with low loss material,
- 16 layer high speed board with embedded coins,
- 8 layer microwave PCB with RO4003C+FR4, controlled-depth slot, blind vias,
- 16 layer 8.4mm thick board with 6 oz heavy copper,
- Thin substrates for CSP, MEMs, Mini-LED with line/spacing down to 30-40 um.
Many customers were very impressed to see the level and depth of technology offered by Sunshine.
Another exciting new feature was a VR Experience Zone, where we provided immersive tours of our Jiujiang Plant 2 automated PCB factory. Using VR headsets and a controller, customers could navigate through the entire process and enjoy 360-degree view of every room. The tour also included our advanced Central Laboratory equipped with various instruments used for testing and failure analysis. Our technical marketing personnel used the tour to provide tutorials to customers on the PCB manufacturing process.

The show lasted 4 days and our booth was buzzing daily with activity. One reason for this is our booth was in a prime location in Hall B1, not far from the main entrance and next to a high-traffic hallway. Many customers prescheduled meetings with our sales people, and we had many potential customers walk-in. We enjoyed catching up with old coworkers, shaking hands with customers that have become friends, and networked with industry veterans and partners. The exhibition allowed us to have valuable face-to-face conversations, share technical updates, and discuss new potential business cooperations.
